 Hi,

because my client wants to have a more secure password policy, i am making my own sqlmembership provider. (check out the code below)

  1. Is this the correct way to do it?
  2. i can't get the SR.GetString to work.  (the System.Web.SR is not usable)
This code i got from the original System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider.ChangePassword where the SR.Getstring is used very often.
Imports System.Web

Public Class myOwnMembershipProvider
Inherits SqlMembershipProvider

Public Overrides Function ChangePassword(ByVal username As String, ByVal oldPassword As String, ByVal newPassword As String) As Boolean

If check_new_pw_recurrence(newPassword) Then
  Throw New ArgumentException(SR.GetString("Password_already_used", _
                New Object() {"newPassword", 10}))
End If

Return MyBase.ChangePassword(username, oldPassword, newPassword)
End Function

Private Function check_new_pw_recurrence(ByVal newPassword As String) As Boolean
'todo check if password was not used the last 10 times
Return True
End Function

End Class

Olivier, please make sure to enclose your code in "pre" tag to prevent interpretation and reformatting. Thank you.
