Hi Friends,

I want that upon a new user registration , an EMail should be sent with a verification code (a 4 digit number )to the email supplied by the user.

I am new to development as well as DNN, just want to know is this possible in dnn.

If yes then could you please explain how ?

I am using VS 2008 and asp.net 3.5

Thanks and Regards

make sure to use verified registration mode, this is a setting in admin :: Site Settings

besides, you need to make sure, that SMTP server accress is properly configured in Host Settings and that the admin, specified in Site Settings has a valid email address in his user data.

Hi Sebestian First of all lots of thanks for your suggestions. I have done all that you have specified in the post:- 1. Admin -- Site Settings -- Advanced Settings -- Security Settings -- User Registration -------- Verified. and also the admin in the Administrative account possess a valid email address. 2. Host -- Host Settings -- Advanced Settings -- SMTP Server Settings :- SMTP Server and Port = smtp1.domain.net:25 SMTP Authentication = Basic Username = abc Password = xyz Then I have clicked on the Update Button , and after that when I tried to send the mail , I am still receiving the following error:- There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is: There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent Any quick replies will be highly appreciable, Regards -- Palli

Hi Palli,

how is the SMTP server set up? du you need secure authentication or a different user name to login? Also, make sure it is configured to allow relaying,
