Hi there,

I need to remove various features on the interface on my DNN installation at code level. I know this may be not the done thing but (for example) I want to hide the main section / module selection of the control panel. I wish to do this by putting a IF THEN ELSE condition into the IconBar.ascx page and wrapping the conditiona around the desired section.

For example I want my code to be like this:

IF userrole  = admin THEN

formCODE

END IF

Can someone help please.

Thanks

Mike

I do suggest not to modify core code. Maybe you should use a custom control panel like free TRTControlPanel from www.davebuckner.com

Thanks for the advice. Although I have downloaded and used the TCTControlPanel I would still like to know (need to know) how I could amend / control what's displayed by using a IF THEN ELSE condition based on security rights - like how you see the ADMIN & HOST tabs on the menu (nav) module. Can anyone help?

Sure you can create your own modified version of the control panel, taking into account role membership etc.

AFAIR, you simply need to place your controlpanel into the proper admin folder and select it in Host Settings.
