Earlier this week version 04.00.03 of the Announcements module was released (it is also part of DNN 4.9.4 that was released yesterday) This is a minor update for the Announcements module. An issue was found that would allow the edit pencils to be shown for unauthenticated users. The cause was found to be in a too broad check on edit permissions.

Also, in this release, two other minor issues were solved. Rendered links to linked content are now properly html encoded (making the module xhtml compliant), and a typo in the uninstall sql script which prevented the module to be uninstalled properly

The minimum DNN version for this version is still DNN 4.7.0 (same as previous version). The module can be downloaded from the central downloads page at http://downloads.dotnetnuke.com, a full change log is available through Gemini.
