Aging Safely Inc. has its own web site and also hosts about 100 others as DNN parent portals on a subscription bases.  When a customer cancels their subscription there portal goes away along with any data and links on www.Aging Safely.com. Unfortunatly the links at Google and Yahoo don't go away at the same tiime. When someone types in a Google search and clicks on one of these "dead" links they are re-directed by DNN to our home page with no idea why they arrived there.

I'd like to have a traditional 404 page, and give them a choice.  How can I easily change DNN's behaviour?

Doesn't anone have a clue how to get DNN to have a 404 page rather than redirecting to the home page?

I am having this same problem as well. Does anyone know how to change this behavior?

I finially "cheated" and used PageBlaster to do a 301 redirect to a page that had NOINDEX in the meta tags. After a time the sites drop out of Google.

Yuk what a way to have to get a 404

The above approach worked on Google.  The page I redirected to was called "NoLongerHosted"." Now when looking at Aging Safely's search results at Yahoo and Bing the not only linked to the page but listed it under my site as an important page.  They also cached it.  So much for <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW, NOCACHE"> in the header.  Once again Google follows the rules and the other search engines may not.
