first off. Thanks for the help.....

What I am trying to do is to get a "List view" of the events to look like this:

May 27,2009
         9:00 am                               Event 1
        10:00am                               Event 2

May  28, 2009
         1:00 pm                                Another Event
         1:00 pm                                AnotherEvent 2

etc.

Any help with this would be muchly appreciated.

While I am NOT an authority on this by any means, I did just get finished playing with the templates for the list view for my site.  I am not sure it would work like you want with the dates.  With the template it would pull the information for each event based on what tokens you specify -- like it 'loops' through the events giving up the information you specify.  I'm not sure you can just display the date like a heading for each day (the template is html, and it would not have the ability to tell if there were more than one event for a date).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

You are right. I haven't come up with a way of doing this yet. You could look at the reports module, and see if it is capable of creating this layout.
