Hello,

I have just noticed that all dropdown menus stay opened under IE8 (once you hover over them); you may check that behavior on this very DNN site.

It starts to function OK when I press the "Compatibility View" button located at the right of the URL textbox of IE8 (version 8.0.6, en-US).

I have tested the Skin under IE7, FF3, Chrome and Opera and it looks OK on them.

Looking forward for suggestions on how to fix this issue over the skin files ;-)

Thank you!

Saludos,

Alejandro

Its a know bug reported two month ago.

The bug does not exist in the webcontrols for release 5.

THe bug is probably a part of the marketing strategy for DotNetNuke corp.

Hello,

I have found that you guys have solved this menu issue for IE8. I wondered if it was the WebControls, and if there was a more recent version for download and apply to my DNN installations, but apparently there are none.

Would you please let me know the workaround you have used for this issue?

Thank you very much!

Alejandro.

for this workaround, you will need to edit default.aspx and insert this meta tag as the first meta tag on the page:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

Barry,

Thank you very much for the tip, it indeed does the trick :-)

However, when I inspect the source of the page rendered by the site dotnetnuke.com, it does not contain that meta tag. It seems to me that the folks responsible for this site know another workaround without 'fooling' IE8.

I am keen to know how the webmaster of THIS site does the trick. I will wait for an answer in that direction. ¿Wouldn't you do so?

Again, thanks Barry. I would like to mark your response as positive, but... let's wait and see, shall we? ;-)

Saludos!

Alejandro.
