Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to prevent users from editing a page/module at the same time when both users have rights to edit the page. My solution would be to set permissions for one user per page/module but my client wants multiple users to have rights to edit the same page/modules.

I've done a bit of searching and have not found a resolution to this issue other than no :-). Any advice or ideas?

Thanks!

no, due to web, any lock would be affectifve for at least the session time (20 mins)

The only thing you could do is to set and control the time for these users loading new content to be edited..... if Editor A has opened a certain piece of content to be edited at 19:04:30 and Editor B goes in and does the sam AND is saving his content before Editor A ....then you set a rule that will inform Editor A when trying to save "There has been savings done in the mean time you edited. Please reload the content and merge it with your own editings manually other wise either your content or the other Editor performing a save action on this content will be lost"

I'm assuming that this would simply be a rule allowing Editor A to edit only at a specific time. Unfortunately as Sebastian Leupol stated there is no true lock of a file correct? Thank you both very much for the quick replies also!

the problem is, that there is no permanent connection between the browser and the server - due to http protocol architecture, the server doesn't know, whether the client is still alive.
