Seems like things on one of my portals don't sync in a timely fashion.  For instance, I have a module that plays media.  I upload the media files via FTP, but even days later I still have to go to the File Manager and manually sync files recursively.

Also, I may delete a user, but the user still shows up in the portal under user accounts?  Is this a timer thing?

Could this be because I have the Timer method selected instead of Request for the scheduler mode?

Chad,

first: which DNN version are you running?

2nd: disable scheduler job filesync, it is broken since ~4.8.0 and may heavily damage your portal. It has been removed in DNN 4.9.3 and newer versions. Please enable autosync in Host settings instead. In order for externally created folders to show up, you will need to continue using recursive sync in file manager.

3rd: use request mode for timer in Host settings, scheduler mode does not reably work in several versions.

Version 5.0.1

How do I disable that job?

OK, thank you Sebastian...

Looking under HOST > Schedule ... i don't see a job for filesync... modified to request mode under host.

Chad,

The setting that Sebastian discusses is called "Auto Sync File System", it is a checkbox under the "Other Settings" section, almost at the very bottom.

However, I do disagree with the Request/Timer method.  I notice reduced site performance and reduced consistency when using the Request mode.
