I want to make it mandatory to have a new user agree to terms of use policy before being allowed to register on my site.  What is the easiest way to do this?

go to USers in Admin menu, enter MAnage Profile Properties, add a boolean field (checkbox) with value default = false and validation = true as required.

Thanks Sebastian,

Unless I did it wrong, your procedure just adds another field in the user profile section.  What I am looking for is a way to add a cheekbox in the default registration page that user user must check, indicating acceptance with the site's Terms of Use before being allowed to register.

Regards,

Oscar

Oscar-
You're correct that Sebastian's suggestion added another field in the PROFILE section.  To have this new field show up as a required item during user regsitration, do the following:

Look under ROLES->USER SETTINGS and set the following two options to "checked":

  • Require a valid Profile for Registration

  • Require a valid Profile for Login

Cheers!

Thanks mamlin.  that did the trick.  Now for the last piece, how do I edit the default text at the beginning of the user registration module that goes

"User Registration

*note: Membership..."
