Does anyone know what *actually* controls the color of the [Search] linkbutton in DNN skins? I posted a very similar issue to this one last week. The reason for this mini-repost is that the [Search] color stopped working (!?!) and reverted back to not responding. Just to make sure I didn't screw up something, I created a new/clean DNN install and db and started testing things.

By default, the CssClass is listed as "SkinObject" (in search.ascx). I have tested several things. In default.css, if I change

  1. the color - only [DATE] changes color
  2. the font-size - [date], [breadcrumbs], [user] and [login] respond correctly

All items, except [SEARCH], are hyperlinks. Does LinkButton live by its own 'undisclosed' rules or am I missing something?  Am I the only one having a problem with this???

Any clarification or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Whatever css class is assigned needs to be extended with the :link, :visited, :active and :hover extensions. Then it will behave as you expect!
