Hello everyone,
(Hope I didn't post this twice, had a glitch.)

We have numerous committees that place PDF files into organized folders (and sub-folders).
I then have modules that let visitors surf & (word) search those folders for what they need.

However I'd like to find a way to 'automatically' list the 20 most recently added files from across all these folders.
And, I'm not ready to make my one modules... yet :)

Any ideas? Know of any modules?

Thanks a ton,
BlackFeather

I've built something similar before - but didn't display the last xxx newest.  But was searchable -- only difference is - all pdf's are in one folder.  Are the multiple folders necessary?  IE - do the people searching know they're looking in different folders?

I've used a couple of different modules to do this.

One is from Ventrian called File Links, which you can find here: http://www.ventrian.com/Products/Modules/FileLinks.aspx

The other one which is much more robust Open-Documents found here:  http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=13922

And this one actually can search through and index your PDF's as well called Document Exchange, found here:  http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=8358

Hope this helps,

Jerry

Hi,

(Andrew)
We have over 30 committees posting years worth of documents. I have a folder for each committee each with sub folders representing years. This lets visitors click a committee folder/ year folder and find their PDF. However I'd love to (automatically) offer a list up front of the most recent uploads. But I

I am using Ventrian 'File Links' to show these folders (and love it). I didn't realize how close it comes to doing this trick too! Unfortunately it only sees one folder at a time. Where I'd like to list the 20 latest out all all the folders combined. I'm going to check out those other modules, thanks.
PS. I also use 'File Links' as a simple file manager for my contributors. Really nice tool.

(Johan)
We have a .Net guy here, (though he's never made a DNN module yet). However he's my last resort. I'm supposed to try and find an existing module before I tap him. So far, I've been really lucky.

Thanks all, BF
