I am new to DNN and am working with DNN 5. I have installed it and it is working. When I installed DNN on this server the DNS was pointing to another hosting company. So the install was setup as 66.244.198.231 with the intent to change the it to www.cartonland.ca when the DNS resolved. Under the Host > Portals both 66.244.198.231 and www.cartonland.ca are listed. I added the www.cartonland.ca a couple of days later.

So here is where I'm at. 66.244.198.231  and http://cartonland.ca work to access the website. www.cartonland.ca does not work.

When I added the second alias I added www.cartonland.ca should I have added http://www.cartonland.ca. Is the solution that simple or is their something else I have to adjust.

Thanks for your help in advance. M Goodine - lost and chasing my tail!

You have no DNS entry for the www host in the cartonland.ca domain.  Add an A record in your DNS for the www host and point it to the same IP.

Wanted to say thanks Jeff, we solved the issue.

Changed the IP in the database and let the portal resolve the DNS in alias settings.

Info for others do not put http;// in the URL when you are adding an alias, the database does not like it. Could this be a bug Jeff?

Have a great day!
