I can’t get my website to show up on a google search.  I’m new to building websites and DotNetNuke.  I’ve put together a basic site that’s 1 page.  I’ve filled out the description, keywords and submitted to google on the site settings page.  I created a sitemap and submitted it via Google Webmaster Tools and it is verified.  I’m using DNN 4.9. 

The site is for my wife’s business and her name is on the home page, in the description and keywords.  I’ve waited 24 hours since submitting the sitemap and site settings to google and if I google her full name there are a bunch of other sites that show up which list her business but not the site I’ve built. This is a big problem because they all list an old phone number and she is losing clients.

Any suggestions?

Carl,

Unfortunately you are fighting a battle that will take a while to conquer. You aren't likely to see your site in the #1 position for results for a while, even if you submitted it to google. The best way I've found for a website to get indexed is to have it linked from other websites. Do you have any other sites that are indexed by google already that you could link to it from?

Heck, you might post a link here in the forums and see if google picks it up.

You can also sign up for the google webmaster tools, add google analytics to the page, some of the other items, etc.
