I have a dotnetnuke website, if i try to login for the first time every day, it takes 45 secs to load the home page where as the subsequent logins are taking only 3 secs to load the same home page. Kindly provide me some solutions. My dotnetnuke website is running on IIS 6.0 with MySQL 5.0 database.

Standard Application pool settings are to recycle the application pool after 20 minutes of inactivity. Your website suffers from too much inactivity i guess ;). What you can do is to change the app pool recycling to a fixed time of day. Also, you can use a keepalive service to keep your site alive. I can recommend http://host-tracker.com, since they can also email and sms you when your site goes offline...

Thanks for the solution. I tried by setting up the option "Recycle worker processess at the following times" to 1:00AM, and removed the option "Shutdown worker processess after being idle for", but still i am facing the same issue. Is there any other option that we have to change?

you might want to add a host-tracker call to access your site early in the morning to get the site loaded for the day.

If you experience recompilation during the day, it is most likely, that the application has been shut down due to lack of resources (RAM).
