Hello,

I've just enabled the tracking function for all posts for all our users - about 60. The task runs now for about 10min. From the email log on the server  (Kerio) I can see the emails leaving. In DNN I have tried to set the SMTP server = mail.domain.com - 129.168.xxx.xxx and 127.0.0.1

It does not seem to make a difference. I can see the post is there when browsing to it using another Web browser (e.g. Firefox) - but still running in IE. Iam just concerded that I cancel the latst emails when I close the window before the task is finished...

Did someone have similar experiences with sending emails? We use 04.09.00

Best Regards

Oliver

I am using the newsletter and forum module - both sendmail functions perform very slow. I have chosen now the smtp server of our ISP instead  of using localhost (our inhouse email server).

I was just wondering which email server parameters can have an influence on DNN...Anybody else experiences with slow SMTP servers?

Regards

Oliver

DotNetNuke.services.Mail.Mail.send does call .Net framework send, if it is very slow there seems to be a problem in communication between .Net and your SMTP server. maybe there is some timeout wait occurring.
