I posted this in the Skinning forum  first but perhaps more developers will see it here.

Hi,

I am trying to dynamically switch skins (DNN version 5.0.1) based on a Querystring parameter (and later based on data in the DB) but I have run into a couple of issues.  I have found a couple of older examples that did this using the Role a user was in.  I Modified the code ,basically a skin control (.ascx) dynamically loads the right skin control based on the parameter.  It worked but I did have to implement the following hacks.  In the skin control that controls the Switching i had to include a ContentPane div (because the DNN skin  parser requires one) but I also had to include a ContentPane in the dynamically loaded control.  What this caused is 2 content panes showing up.  To get around this I removed the 1st ContentPane div via code in the Page_Load event of the switching control.  But when you view the page as an admin you will see 2 control panels at the top of the screen!  To fix this, I added a controlPanel div to the switching control and then removed it in the Page_Load event.  So, the page now looks normal for an admin.  But,  if you look in the pane dropdown of the ControlPanel, 2 ContentPanes are listed.  The next issue is when I try and edit an HTML module on the page, the Context menu for the module won't load.  I just see the spinning circle.  So, in short I was wondering if anyone has had success in doing this in 5.0+ without the hacks.  (Perhaps via straight CSS)

Thanks.

Robert
