I am a newbie to DNN, so let me apologize up front if this is posted in the wrong area or if some of my wording is a bit off.

We have a T-SQL script that we want to distribute to our clients and have them run it trough Host> SQL.

This script is about 3000 lines, and creates and alters many objects in the DB. We are also migrating data over to new tables then dropping the old one. My boss explained to me that DNN does not support T-SQL Transaction Rollback\ commits for the entire script. For example, if step 2 works correctly, but step 17 fails, I want the entire update to Rollback because a portion of it failed.

It is my understanding that the DNN sql provider parses every time it sees the word 'GO', so if my first line is Begin Transaction, it is not recognized by the time we get to the end of the script and I get an e-message telling me that I need a corresponding begin transaction statement to go with the Rollback\ Commit trans statement.

Can anyone offer any advice or alternatives to this situation?

Thanks, G
