Hello,

I have a DotNetNuke 5.0 site. I followed the instruction in this post

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/278618/scope/posts/Default.aspx

to obtain the overlay. I put this link

<a href=http://www.google.it?TB_iframe=true&height=700&width=900 title="try html" class="thickbox">google</a>

in my skin and all works. I put the same link in a text/html module and all works.

But what if I want to open the link on the page load?

 DeVen-
Under DNN5 you have jQuery available to you (see jQuery functions READY and LOAD).  This can make for a really simple 1-line solution but you'll need to be sure the jQuery library is loaded (see this thread).

If, however, you are creating a skin that may also be used on DNN 4.x (or if you simply don't want to mess with jQuery or insuring the library is loaded) then you'll prefer a more universal Javascript solution for firing an event (in your case, javascript's "window.location" to open your specified URL) upon completion of page load.  The javascript onload solution I've used with great success under DNN is blogged about here:

Force JavaScript to run AFTER a DotNetNuke page is fully loaded

Glad it worked for you.  That method has saved me more than once as well.  Cheers!
