I am using 1&1 Internet as a hosting provider. They have support for DNN3 (they are still running ASP.NET 1.1), and detailed installation instructions in the help section of their page, but I followed those instructions to the letter and the installation didn't work.

Of note is that the instructions were for DNN 3.0.13, and I am using DNN 3.2.2. Could someone read these instructions from 1&1 and see if there is anything that would need to be different for DNN3.2.2 that would explain why it's not working right?

Hi There,

I had my fun with 1&1 arround that time as well. I realized on the 18th that my DotNetNuke page simply did not work anymore (over night). I even couöd not get logged in .... Runtime error.

Basically what they started arround this time was to update all their servers from Net1.1 to Net2.0. Their premium support was not helpful as they don't understand what DotNetNuke is. The help link you are mentioning was working when I installed it but I had to spend many hours to get into my 3.2.2 installation after they changed from net1.1 to 2.0 only to find out that everything now was acting unstable. I then tried to install to install DNN4.x but no success. As I'm not an expert on DNN (just now) I gave up on using 1&1 as I need a hosting provider who can help if I have an issue. At the end of the day it's business. Also after seeing multiple negative Forum entries about 1&1 related to using DNN on their service I changed.

I selected a new Hosting Provider www.powerdnn.com, they even have DNN pre-installed and I was up-and running in 1 hour !! The few questions I had to them were answered immediately and you could tell that they know what they are doing, specifically they know DNN.

cheers

Peter
