Hi Pascal,

why the admin portal allows me to set such a password?

maybe, because DNN developers are not perfect beings (like most other people)

Pascal,

Sebastian is correct, the issue is likely to be password length. At present I believe that the asp.net 1.1 version of memberrole has a maximum password length of 14, and the 2.0 version has a maximum length of 20. As neither of these appear to be documented anywhere at present (as they're Microsoft components, we rely on their documentation which has been a bit sparse), I have it on my list of todo items to investigate this further, and then add any necessary validators. The source of the memberrole was released a few days ago, so I should be able to get an answer and close this off soon, hopefully for the next release (though if the maximum lengths are different between versions it's another issue, as they were supposed to be binary compatible). For now I'd suggest you use passwords less than 15 characters.

Cathal
