I have installed and it works absolutely perfectly, using XP, SQL2005, Visual Studio 2005.  I can browse the portal perfectly on localhost if I am sitting at the machine it is installed on.  Unfortunately when I go to any other machine on the network and try to load the default page the server hard drive starts cranking and I can hear that it is starting to serve the page but lo and behold a "This page cannot be displayed" error on the client.  I have scoured the install docs and have done everything they have told me concerning directory rights, IIS, and the setup, but still the same.  Can someone help please.?

Figured it out...

Had to go into the portal alias and give it a new alias for the way I was trying to reach it from the client (ie. www.mysite.com or 45.12.19.22 etc)... I didnt realize this even needed to be done for the ip address.

Hi!

This sounds very familiar to the problem I am having on my network. The only difference is that I am using the Starter kit install. Can you explain the "fix" a little more? What do you mean by "Portal alias" and what did you do exactly to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Login as host and go to your portals section.  At the bottom of the page look for the portal alias section.  Add any portal alias's you will be accessing the portal as... such as www.mysite.com/dotnetnuke_2 etc...
