Has anyone else seen permission problems since upgrading to 5.01?

Specifically I'm not able to make an events module visible to 'unauthenticated users' or 'all users'. The module is only visible to logged in users in spite of setting permissions for everyone to view.

Hi Penny,

What version of DNN are you using? There isn't anything within the module codethat controls visibility of the module, so I'm not sure how an upgrade to V5.x should cause a problem, but you never know. Are you using 'Inherit View permissions from Page' ?

Thanks
Roger

I've tried many different approaches to permissions but no joy.

this is dnn4.9.4

I have a hidden events module, calendar view that is only visible to the editors. Then on the same page I have a list view that used to be visible to all users (sub calendar from the hidden module). The list view does not show up no matter what I do. It shows up for logged in users just fine but that's not the point.

 Problem solved.

I changed permissions on the parent module and events now show up correctly.

I had to move the parent module to another page and set restricted access on the page so I could change permissions on the module. Maybe my use is not typical but it's a gotcha that the sub module inherits permissions from the parent.

Still, 5 is a great improvement and I appreciate it very much!
