I created in VS2008 a DNN5 Skin Object named PortalTitle – it simply displays the title of current portal. I created an extension packaged and installed it in my production web server. The extension appears in extensions list at correct place.

Now I made a copy of the default skin and inserted next to logo skin object my new skin object PortalTitle. It works perfect in VS2008. So I created a skin package and installed it in production machine. To my big surprise the framework stripped off my new skin object by parsing it and the object is not there anymore.

What am I doing wrong? Please help me. Thanks.

if you added your SKO to the .aspx file and packed it together with .html version, .html gets reparsed and .aspx file recreated.

either make your change in .html version of the skin file or don't package .html files with your skin.

Sebastian,

you are right. This was it. It works fine now.

BTW: what about to include SKO PortalTitle in standart installation of DNN?

Vlado,

sorry, I forgot to mention, there is no need for a custom skin object, you may use [TEXT] skin object with replace tokens turned on (see documentation from Timo) and [Portal:Title] token used inside.
