Hi,

Can anyone tell me wich one I should use infinity or dnnmasters, wich one is better? Or are there even better options?

Both seem to offer a good product, but wich one to choose?

We want to optimalise our site for SEO and the url needs to be without extention. Also we do use custom modules.

Please advise

Sander

I use the free iFinity solution for everything without issue.  I don't have experience with DNNMasters since iFinity has always done what I needed.

Regarding custom modules, iFinity's paid product URLMaster is very powerful in that it allows "tuning" of individual pages so you can employ standard URLs for any pages containing custom modules that require standard URLs but still apply friendly URLs on all other pages.

Both the free and paid iFinity providers allow you to drop the file extension as long as you have control over your IIS server.

For what it's worth...
One Twitter user (hal20xx) has reported performance issues with the DNNMasters module on a site with a large number of pages (thousands of pages).  After a few days of investigation that user believes that the issue stems from a long caching operation (due to the large number of pages) from the DNNMasters module when a new page is added to the site.

If the cited cause is accurate, this does not sound like anything that should deter the average admin from using the DNNMasters module.  I have rarely run across many DNN sites with hundreds of pages and never knowingly run across one with thousands of configured pages.  I also cannot say whether the iFinity FriendlyURL provider would perform any better in a similar scenario.
