Hi,

I have 4.9.4 installed as a test site, and working well.  I tried to uprade the site today to 5.1 and got an error message stating the following:

Parser Error

Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Common.Global'.

Source Error:

Line 1:  <%@ Application Inherits="DotNetNuke.Common.Global" Language="VB" %>

When I restore the site to the 4.9.4 backup, it works ok again.  Since it was only a test site, I attempted to install 5.1 from scratch in a new virtual directory.  When I attempt to launch the new site for the first time, I get the same error.  I'm sure I missed something simple, but I have very limited experience with DNN installation, and I can't find anything quite like this in the forums, or see where I overlooked something from the install instructions.  Any help is appreciated.

The answer = don't use the native Windows 2003 Server zip utiliity.  It doesn't allow all file tyoes to be unzipped.  Use a third-party tool like WinRAR, 7Zip, or WinZip.

Solved my upgrade problem to.

This must be one of Microsoft top ten most stuped things.
They could at least give a warning "The file xxx.xxx could not be unziped becouse..."
