There is actually one free Gallery option available.  You can read about it and get the download at this link.  Look for the part about downloads, and note that the actual link is just the word "here".  Both links will take you to Snowcovered but one of the options is indeed free.  The only thing is that it displays a splash screen popup that goes away on its own after a couple of seconds. This module is derived from the original DNN Gallery Module but with major corrections and debugging, it just works great.  I have been using it for a long time, the site now runs 4.9.3 and it just works.

I don't know what happened along the way, the DNN folks should have adopted the Jegers Gallery Module to be provided as a download from this site.  Instead, the project stagnated and has been lingering for a very long time.  No offense intended for the current developers, as these issues predate them.  But the Gallery Module has to be the top mismanaged project in DNN history (or should I say unmanaged).  And note that decent gallery modules are in high demand.

unfotunately, there is no quality Gallery module for free atm - maybe  FlickrGallery from Oliver Hine (see here, DNN 5 only!!!)

Thanks for suggesting my module Sebastian, I really do appreciate getting my module recommended to others by youself!

I just edited my demo page to show a couple other methods of display, as the module is (at least I think so) semi-powerful. I've added the slideshow feature to display in the left pane (the album are some fireworks I photographed this 4th of July utilizing the CHDK software for Canon cameras). I also changed the Waterfest gallery to display 3x3 instead 1x2. The module has quite a few options, so you can hopefully get it to work for any situation.

Thanks Carlos you definitely nailed that one...ya i also observed that but don't have enough nerve to say in the open...the Gallery module in DNN was no doubt  unmanaged...or maybe thier pushing the customers to buy some...and also i would like to thank the people behind Jegers Gallery...i have downloaded thier free edition and i like it though not that sophisticated but still it really rocks..

Good luck,

uzumaki

I admit, the Gallery project had been abandoned for some time, but meanwhile it got a new team, which worked hard (especially Bill and Matthias) to get all bugs fixed and make the module compatible with DNN 4.9 and 5.1. It had been submitted to the project release tracker, but our tests onveiled a couple of issues, which needed to be fixed as well. As I got to know, this has just been finished and the module shall be resubmitted to the release tracker soon. It will need to be re-tested, before the release, which may take a few more weeks, but afterwards you will get a stable Gallery module with a lot of features for DNN 4 and 5.

I don't know if this helps but I use Google Picasa to host my gallery and then embed their code into an HTML Module.  It is not a preatty as some of the gallery modules out there but it does work fine. I use this method on low budget sites where they don't want to invest in an add on module.

Here is an example > http://riverfrontcruisein.com/EventPhotos/ChevelleCarCruiseJuly202009/tabid/422/Default.aspx
