The forums should use google groups or something smarter as the search comes up with results from 3 years ago..

At least in google you can narrow a search and it is more relevant.

After having a nightmare trying to skin a seach wdiget....anf seeing how crap the search is, why didn't one just use the google search engine as it works....

Either you get it right or you don't use it...

Am I the only one seeing the issues with search?

No you aren't. The search problems are well known. In the mean time try http://www.searchdotnetnuke.com/.

you can also just use google to search this site. Be sure to use the correct spelling of dotnetnuke though :)

presumably you are referring to the search skin object. Timo created  a new documentent about all dnn skinobjects, which is available from the skinning group page: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Development/Forge/GroupSkinning/Downloads/tabid/1254/Default.aspx
