Have you got your site in either your trusted or intranet sites list? You don't mention getting an IIS popup so I'll assume that you do. The other thing you can try for now is either wait about an hour and try again or delete all your cache and cookies from your system and then try.

Greetings,  Any help is greatly appreciated.  We recently purchased your professional version of DNN.  I am having an issue with getting Auto Login with AD working.  My environment is as follows:

DNN 6.01.04,  IIS 7.5,  Windows 2008 R2, MS SQL Server 2005.

To my knowledge, I have followed the instructions to the very detail and it seems like auto login will only work if IIS Authentication is setup with Anonymous, Fomrs and Windows Enabled.   My guess is that I have something wrong as these are invalid for my requirement.  I would like it to work with Windows only as this will the Intranet for my company.

Thanks,

Herman

That's one of the intents of the provider, to allow Windows domain users the ability to login to a DNN site using their windows credentials. If you want pure Windows authentication then all you should really need to do is comment out the <authentication mode="Forms"> section in your web.config and uncomment the <authentication mode="Windows"> section. Note: this is a .NET Framework/IIS attribute and not part of DotNetNuke so I can't guarantee that there won't be issues with DotNetNuke.

Is this site available externally? If not then does it really matter if Forms Authentication is enabled? If you page permissions are setup so that only Registered Users can see the information then unauthenticated users won't be able to see anything.

Strange things happen... I installed a second web using DNN 6.2.2 and AD 5.0.4 on the same machine where I have an installation of DNN 5.4.4 and AD 5.0.2 (Win 2008x64/IIS 7.0), doing everything as usual.

Windows Authentication works when I login using the login page. It does not work automatically. I had something like 10.0.0.0-10.200.25.37;10.200.25.39-10.255.255.255 for autologin (as 10.200.25.38 used to be an index server), which works fine with DNN 5.4.4 and AD 5.0.2. After closing the hole and using 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255, the WindowsSignin.aspx page redirects me to the login page when I directly access it (by typing the complete Url). The same effect happens when I delete the local cache and the cookies - but only once after these deletions.

The Autologin on the DNN 5.4.4 site works without any trouble.

Any idea?

Best wishes
Michael
