i tested on dnn 5.1 and ie8, works fine here (on ie8 i dont get a new window though, but a new tab, but that is to be expected)

Hi Erik,

I tried the solution given i.e.  "window.open('http://www.dotnetnuke.com')" for URL link type, but isnt working. Am i missing something in the expression given there?

 try " window.open('http://www.dotnetnuke.com')"

 Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for  the response,but the solution is the same as i tried earlier but it ist working. When i update the page it gives me a "Bad Request". Is there any other alternative solution. I want the tab to open in new window when a user clicks on the tab.

This solution does not work for me either.  Tried using FireFox and IE8.

In the Location textbox, I have

window.open('http://www.sunsethill.ca')

...but it does not work... 

Also tried:

window.open('http://www.sunsethill.ca') ;

..same result

In IE 8, the error is:

Expected ';'

spmenu.js  Line: 457  Char:  7  Code: 0

URI:  http://localhost/mysite/controls/SolPartMenu/spmenu.js
