So a couple of things I notice...

1)  Complains that I am not on the latest version of .NET, while I have .net 3.5 Sp1 installed

2)  IP detection, grabs my IPV6 address and not the IPV4 address.  IMO it should pick up both.

1. the check for 3.5 in host settings trys to instantiate the system.data.linq.Datacontext to detect that. It's possible for you to be running 3.5, but not have the data.linq libraries in your web.config. I'm updating the message to make it apparent that we expect both the system.core and system.data.linq libraries to exist. To resolve this you can add the following in the assemblies section of your web.config

<

add assembly="System.Data.Linq, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" />

2. sounds reasonable, please add an enhancement request in the public issuetracker @ support.dotnetnuke.com so it can be considered for the next release

Bit of irony, web.config already had it in the list of assemblies.  I had to a vs.net build to get it to pick it up.  But only after putting hard reference to that version of the assembly into the solution.  Kinda strange imo.

I did this cause of Michael Washington's silverlight desktop module requires linq.  dropped the module in and it failed horribly cause it didn't see it.

I am planning on moving a production site to 5.1 but can't take the chance it will have issues with this item.  Since i plan on doing some silverlight development for a couple of modules.
