Does DNN have this feature of pages being indexed by Googlebots that needs authentication?? I want my pages to come in the results of Google search but I want to increase my members hence denying access to those pages by visitors. Is this possible in DNN..?? I have seen this site built with DNN mygenius.com and they manage to do that.. does DNN have special features to do so.. Please Help...!!!

Unfortunately this is not supported out of the box, you may need to create a custom module, supporting this.

Alright.. A lil help here.. What is the logic behind this module. I have checked on Google and they suggest First Click Free, but it doesn't fit the picture. I want Google to index the sites that are password protected. Is there any option or logic how I can do this?

if you want google to access to private content, you need to provide spcific rendering based on ip or referrer of the visiting client.

of course, you are weakening your security, because this information can easily been tweaked by a site visitor.

One thought might be to not secure the pages but the content instead.

For example, you add a new page, set its view permission to everybody.

Then you add the modules to the page and set their security to match your "membership" structure.

This way you could mix public modules with premium modules on one accessible page.

It would even let visitors browse your entire site. You can even have modules that show up for Un Authenticated visitors only, these could have screen shots of what Authenticated visitors see and so on...

This would allow you to put keywords, phrases etc. that could be indexed by Google and other bots on the page but not giveaway your premium content.

Hope this helps!

Josh
