Has anyone had much use of XMOD and Dynamic forms?

I wish to create a villa rental portal for owners.

Essentially I need to provide ways for apartment owners to:
1. Enter information about their villa - locations, details, prices (forms)
2. Manage their villas and activate them (pay me) and publish or not publish them
3. Manage the availability of the villa (??)
4. Enter their own paypal details to receive payments online
5. Review bookings that have been taken

I need customers to be able to:
1. search for villas by location, availability, size etc....
2. view villa information
3. book a villa and pay deposit.
4. review bookings and either finalise payment or cancel
5. post comments/reviews of villas

Overall app needs to do things like:
1. send confirmation emails.
2. send payment reminders and invoices
3. have featured properties

a basic outline of what is required....

CAn I use XMOD or formS to develope such an app ?

I'd like to utilise a bit of AJAX so that there is not continuous posting (something i noticed with forms demo)

I'd assume, developing a custom module (or a set of it) would be more suitable.

Xmod will do all that you listed.

Using DNN as a app framework you can combine Xmod with other modules to do this even easier than doing it all inside Xmod. i.e. You can use Xmod to do most of it and then add a payment module to do the payments. An excellent choice that would cover your reminders/invoices would be Ventrian's Subscription Tools. You can also get Xmod's add-on calander module to link directly between your Xmod data and the Calander.

Another option would be to build it all in XmodPro. Or following the same lines link Dynamic forms with XmodPro.  Dynamic forms is easy and is pretty powerful on the incoming data side but is unable to display the information it collects in any meaningful way.

Third choice (I'll save David T the time - ), if you are a developer, would be Open Web Studio.

Greg,

thanks for that
I think I am going to have to explore the options further

perhaps try and get a localhost version of these things to test.
