Hi all,
I'm having a heck of a time trying to install a DNN 5 site on a hosting provider's server. I finally got it running, but when it was set up it was pointing to:
http://domainname.com/folder
I didn't want it in a subfolder, so I moved all the files to the root and that seemed to work, but it would still only work if I went to:
http://domainname.com
Whenever I tried the address with the "www" in the front:
http://www.domainname.com
I would get that generic server error, even though I had both entries in the portal aliases. I told the provider about this and they said it worked on their end. I flushed my cache, tried other browsers, but nothing worked. I went for lunch and came back and it loaded! But when I tried to click on the login link, I would get this error:
A critical error has occurred.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
But if I go to the site using the address WITHOUT the "www", it works fine. I don't get it. This doesn't make sense to me. I'm used to DNN 4, so perhaps I've missed something when it comes to portal aliases or something? Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks
Kev
