 Hi everybody,

I upgraded my DNN portal to the new version, everything was fine, website work fine and next day, website down 503 error, I contact the support service of my hoster(discountasp), they said they recycled my app pool and suggest me that

Hello,

I went ahead and recycled your application pool. Please note each customer's account runs in their own application pool.

We have limited the amount of server resources an application can utilize before being recycled, here is the criteria:

Windows Server 2008/IIS 7:

    * Idle timeout set to 20 minutes. (Information is NOT logged)
    * Memory threshold set to 200 MB.
    * CPU limit set to 70% utilization over 300 seconds (5 minutes).

I checked your event log and it looks like there was not events recently for your application. Unfortunately it's hard to determine this issue. But we suggest that you try and optimize this issue locally with the set criteria that we impose on our servers.

What can I do to avoid the error 503 for next time because i heard that DNN use lot of ressources.

Thanks for your help

Which DNN version are you using?

Did you install 3rd party modules?

Optimising an installation requires access to the server logs and performance tools, any statement here can only be guessing based on own experiences.

You can optimize for performance or for limited resources - both is impossible with dynamic applications ...
