 Hi;
I’m hosting my DNN website on my own server (Windows Server 2003) and I can access successfully on (http://localhost/Test)
In order to expose this website to the internet, a DNS (A) record has been created as following
(new.companyx.com.sa) pointed to ip address (99.xx.xx.xx)
On the server, a (virtual directory) has been created under the (Default website) with the following settings:
·         (virtual directory) alias is (Test)
·         This (virtual directory) is pointing to the website directory
·         Enable anonymous access
·         ASP.Net is version2
Locally, I can access this website using:
http://new.companyx.com.sa/Test
or
http://localhost/Test
but the problem is when I try to access it from another PC
I have tried to use the host header in the (Default websites). But it doesn’t work too:
·         Port 80
·         IP (99.xx.xx.xx) which is the server IP
·         Host header is (new.companyx.com.sa)
How can I expose this DNN site to the internet successfully?
Thanks in advance for any help

please go to portals in Host menu and enter your module settings (or Site settings in Admin menu) and add the external address as additional portal alias, e.g. new.companyx.com.sa/Test.

If you want to access it using new.companyx.com.sa, you need to create a new web site in IIS, assign the domain as host header and point the directory to the DNN installation directory. you may need to adjust a couple of image paths and paths to documents, because paths might be stored domain relative.

please be aware, that name server changes need some time to get propageted to become effective (up to 48 h)
