Brian, Jan,

Please be aware, that DotNetNuke core framework is provided by DotNetNuke Corp and please accept, there are a number of volunteers in the core team, trying to support the community as good as possible - this includes specifically Alex, who is donating much of his time, to keep support.dotnetnuke.com consistent and up2date as well as providing support in these forums.  I do not see any need to bash people for their contributions and I would like to see returning a discussion culture based on respect of each other to these forums - which will further motivate the DNN team as well. Thank you.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Back on subject...   5.1.1

... which will be released, when it is ready and thoroughly tested as expected.

Of course, everyone should test his own sites, whether he prefers to upgrade or stick with a previous version (as long as no security issues are known for it).

The only high visibility issue for 5.1.1 I see during upgrades is the Event log primary issue, and this actually can be ignored

Note:  telling someone you can just ignore the errors isn't good advice.

Response (go figure):
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=10268

Analysis:
It simply amazes me you just come up with very generalistic conclusions on very specific topics or statements, with no backup, as a senior software developer I would expect more... you simply love taking things out of context and bending them to suit your needs, which let's face it is 24/7 needling:.

In Conclusion
I look forward to more valuable contributions from you in the future Brian as an expert developer. We could do with somebody with your skills and expertise who can really get down to the nitty gritty stuff.

Pointers
http://support.dotnetnuke.com is where you can log your code or debug issues you may find.

Quote: "At work, I don't ask others to fix my bugs." - you are missing the point of open source - ESPECIALLY as a software developer. You got a problem - you contribute if you are capable- or be a freetard and complain. It is a Team Community Effort. This is collaboration - collaboration is not about standing on fence and then expecting somebody to do something for you (esp if you are capable). If you are not capable of developing then why not log specific issues or beta test (huh Brian?). Even direct detailed feedback is a good contribution. Issuing a list of demands on a daily basis is NOT contribution. Generalistic daily criticism is NOT a contribution.

If this is your attitude I would suggest buying a product or buying support, and then you have every right to have grand expectations. Get way from open source software (we don't need you). Nobody here signed up a QOS agreement with you.

You are not the mod

BTW - FYI as part of the team I can moderate these forums if I choose to. I rarely exercise that right. So be nice :).

Thanks...

Alex Shirley
