Comrades...

I am here to query this one once and for all...

  1. Which is the best and most stable option for the House Menu skin object / module?
    1. HouseMenu SkinObject 1.4.1 (beta)
    2. HouseMenu Module 1.4.1 (beta)
    3. HouseMenu Professional 1.2.1
    4. HouseMenu2 (beta 2)
    5. HouseMenu SkinObject 1.3.1
    6. NOTE: I would prefer a skin object version...  Just need to know which one.
  2. Does anyone have working examples of how to implement this (both Vertical and Horizontal) into an .ascx skin file.
    1. Obviously I welcome HTML skinning methods too, but the technique to me is a little antiquated
  3. Does anyone have a CSS2.1 example for both Vertical and Horizontal styling that we can all learn from?
    1. If you do, please make it available for download somewhere
    2. Once I have styles and figured out how to use this one, I will make styles available for download myself
    3. NOTE: Please don't point me to DNNCreative or the HouseofNuke forums - Its not going to happen there.  Though I have huge respect for Lee and the forums, I'd like to get a permanent solution going on this forum.  It needs to happen here.  For all of us.

One of the biggest questions that comes up time and time and time again is "Menu this," "Menu that".  I have questions regarding the DNN Nav Menu too, but that's been posted on another thread.

This one is now exclusively HOUSE MENU.

Let's get the ball rolling.  Let's make this a hot link.  Lets get it pinned to the top of the forum.

I used to do all my skins with housemenu, but since I got sick of all imitations, I programmed my own.

I used 1.3.1, you should not use the acoompanied CSS, but start from scratch IMO.

You can use any UL menu CSS example out there, thisone is a good one to start with IMO:

Hi Timo

Thank you for this - You have pointed me to this before, here... And it did help a lot.  Even so though, for a newbie (which I am not, fortunately) its a little difficult.  There's also very little documentation for newbies on how to style this object specifically...

Also - When you say you programmed your own... Care to share this with us?  Or, at least your methodology, or whether or not it's available for purchase.

Jon
