How to install DNN on a server 2003 which has an active SharePoint portal running? And then to configure it to have the same public IP address with a SP portal. This is a dedicated server I operate for my community needs.

you need to setup 2 web sites on your server with different host header values, e.g. Sharepoint.mycompany.com and DotNetNuke.mycompany.com.

In the web.config of your ROOT application (SharePoint) add the line below just before the <system.web> tag.

<location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false">
<system.web>

Just finished testing this with:

root app - Sharepoint Web Services 3.0
                        - DotNetNuke v5.1
                        - ScrewTurn Wiki

You can then access your DNN site by http://sharepoint/DNN.

Dear Sebastian,

The problem is after having set IIS (new vertual directory) and SQL2005 part of the web. config file I cannot initialize installation process though all permissions to the home directory were given.

IIS cofiguration

SharePoint: IP Adress --> All Unassigned; Port --> 80

SharePoint Central administration:  IP Adress --> All Unassigned; Port --> 2020

DNN:  IP Adress --> All Unassigned; Port --> 8080

When I try to browse to DNN address, ie. http://myserver:8080 nothing happens. In stead I get

HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Why? Where do I go wrong?
