I created a skin object that creates an image with a font of your choice (it does not have to be installed on the server it just has to be in the skin folder).

I will be for sale on later date (still some development to do).

It renders the text and the image  if you want and you would have to hide the text (CSS or JS)

Does that sound usefull?

Timo,

Sorry for the delayed response, it would prove useful particularly if the text is still crawlable by the search engines. However, just taking the word "CSS" and relacing it with 3 images would leave many with a partial solution - since of course, the holy grail is to be able to use non-web-safe fonts and still maintain good indexing. My hopes are high for CSS3 and linked/hosted TTF/font files, however I still worry what the licensing mess will be for all that.

The skin object renders both a text and an image, you can then hide the text using CSS or JS (actually it uses a template so you can choose to show the title as text or not).

The text images are written to the portals folder so they are cached, if you clear the DNN cache, the images are recreated.

The skin object is not ready for distribution yet, since the documentation is "non exisitng", but it is being used in production.

CSS 3 seems nice, but how long before all major browsers support it...?

If you see IE6 is still a factor ...

BTW, I'm planning to release this as a commercail skin object, I spent too much time creating it to give it away for free..
