This is a collective list of known issues in the 4.5.3 Forum Release. This will be updated when issues are verified.

Avatars:

  • Avatar Pool is not working as expected and should be disabled. It is possible that admin users will not see an option to upload the avatars (although they could be uploaded elsewhere).
  • Disabling User Avatars makes System Avatar assignment not possible unless admin manually navigates to user management screen with View=5 parameter in URL (or view/5 if using FURL).

Forum Posting:

  • Users with "Reply" permissions cannot post in forums with Post Restrictions (and they don't have "Start Thread" permissions).

Localization:

  • cmdViewPool.Text is a missing key in user avatar control (it is actually there, just not loading)
  • Forum attachments uploaded above limit, cause a validation problem (as expected). However, the message should be more clear to users about why it currently just shows size.
  • NEW: Spelling issues in: Pool Avatar Path label, Enable Role Avatar help.
  • NEW: LastIndexDate uses periods, problem in some cultures where a comma is used.

User Interface:

  • RTL alignment issues.
  • Not XHTML compliant.

Things to always keep in mind:

  • Forums and other community modules depend heavily on user profile data. Users who are "Super Users" are not intended to be community oriented participants (for security and other reasons).

Ratings:

  • Enable/Disable doesn't save value (ie. cannot be changed)

Private Messaging:

  • There is a problem where a user can have an issue with Read status resulting in a subquery cannot return more than one value error. It is sproc/data related and would affect only some users.

Role Avatars:

  • Newly assigned role avatars do not appear on some users until cache is cleared.

Report Post:

  • Always shows the user's Username even if Display Name setting is checked in admin area.

Post Edit:

  • Quote creates a single <div> making it dififcult to reply without viewing HTML source. Needs another <div> tag added.

Aggregated View:

  • Non-English characters not rendered properly (such as an umlaut).

Uninstalling Module:

  • SQL needs checks for 'if exists' in some methods.

Admin, Moderator, User Control Panels:

  • Z-Index issue with navigation menu in control panels.
