I need to delete all users from my database except the host and admin on a new install of 5.0.1.

How many users are we talking?  I did the reverse recently by writing a simple Watin script that just added the users in by actually running the browser and automatically entering the user data into the form.  You could do the same but write the Watin test to hit the delete button.  Else you'll need to delete all the profile proeprty data, user portals, and any settings as well.

Hey Philip, long time, no chat... we used to talk often.

Well the problem was I used an import module that failed halfway through.  So the users were in the database, but not showing on the portal anywhere.  I'm not sure if what you are talking about would have worked on the database or if the user would have needed to be visible by the portal.

However, I am very, very interested in your script because I have the need to do what you said above also.

I found a post on Gemini about users in the db that I was able to modify and delete my users using SQL.  It may have left some profile properties over in ASPNET but at least it allowed me to re-import my users and then they showed up as needed.

Thanks, Chad

Gents,

I have 930 entries for 894 users.  It's a DNN private site, since the users are union Local members. The ones that shouldn't be there are the "deletes" from the normal user account registration/admin process, which I bumped since they were dupes.  I have used DNN Engineers PowerImportExport (latest version) to upload and to download a couple of times. The "deletes" don't show in the user accounts on the portal, but they do show up in the download, but with no Role properties. I imagine I coudl somehow get to the SQL database and delete them, but if the user data is across more that one table, I would screw that up. Any thoughts?

Hi Chad,

Just grab the Watin test recorder tool from Codeplex and record what you want to do.  Then copy the c# it generates and make a loop. Shouldnt be too hard.
