ok, I upgraded my events module from 4.0.2. to 5.0.1 but now it is not working any more. I get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" in DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EditEvents.LoadOwnerUsers(Int32 OwnerID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EditEvents.Page_Load

I can view events but cannot add or edit events (both in the existing module, as well as in a newly added module).

For anyone else suffering this problem. Please provide as much detail as possible:-

  • What version of Events are you upgrading from? 4.0.2
  • What version of Events was your first install? not sure, probably 4.0.2.
  • What version of DNN are you on?  4.9.1
  • What version of SQL Server are you using? 2005
  • Have you checked that AutoUpgrade=True in your web.config? Yes
  • Have you checked in the Module Settings to see if the 'Restart Upgrade' link is visible next to a red banner warning that the upgrade isn't complete? does not do the trick, "I get an investigate further message"
  • Were there any errors on the initial module install screen? no, in de eventlog I see the message: "Not All Events Upgraded - Check database for errors
  • Is an error displayed when you access the module? add event crashes, but list view, settings and detailed views are ok

Please post any errors you see. With this set of information I should be able to resolve your problem.

there are about 300 records in EventsRecurMater and about 1400 events in de Events table. The other "event module" tables are empty (exept for location and category) The first to records in the EventsRecurMaster have a dummy RRule.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Peter,

I believe this would be fixed by an upgrade to 5.0.2, but can't guarantee this, since I though teh problem was only to do with editing existing events. See here - http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=10071&PROJID=11

Thanks Roger for your quick answer.

I installed the 5.0.2RC candidate and it solved my problem. I can add events again. I did see a lot of new events (luckily its archive only) for the older multi day events. Have to clean that up at some point.

Thanks again and hopefully rc1 becomes the real 5.0.2., otherwise I have to check the DB scripts before a new upgrade.
