I think this is an issue with the user the app pool is using.

I changed the IUSR permission so it only has read access.  This caused loads of problems.  For a start i'm now getting loads of cache permission errors like before.  I also can't write to the two databases i'm using.

I have two db's one with the DNN install on and another which i use for module specific data.  I've noticed that when i'm logged in as any user, whether they're admin or registereduser there is no problem writing to the databases but when i'm not logged in as anyone i start getting errors.  The only way to get around this is to give IUSR owner/write permission.  But as you've stated i shouldn't do that.

Any ideas on what i can do now?
