Hi,

I have a laptop with VS2005 and SQL Server Express 2005 (but no IIS) on which i wish to do module development. My question is how do i install DNN?

So far i have downloaded and unzipped the Source version of DNN5, but i get an error when attempting to open the solution - unable to open web http://localhost/dontnetnuke_cambrian.

I have renamed development.config to web.config. I'm obviously not able to run install.aspx as i dont have IIS installed. Do i even need to run it?

I have separately installed DNN5 on a server which has SQL Server 2005 & IIS7, but this is an internal web server, and i want to be able to do module development when i am working remotely and hence not connected to my server.

Which OS are you running on your Laptop?

VS2005 includes a (limited) web server, if you are running a pro/ultimate version of windows, you can easily install IIS from available windows components.
