Hi,

I like the new user interface / control panel of the forum 4.5.3. version but I'm missing something.
Previous I could go to my settings>tracking/subscription and I could easily select all the forums that I wanted to be notified of.

How would I achieve this with the new version? It seems to me that I can only remove subscriptions but not add new ones?
I hope the answer is not : you will have to go each forum and click the email me check box....

Cheers,

Thomas

Unfortunately, that is the case for this version. I haven't though about how I can add this back in the future, but I certainly don't want to use the treeview control.

just curious, why not use the treeview control?

I'm just thinking of creating an extra module for administrators to set notifications for other users, because it would be nice to guide new users to participate on the forums.

A couple of reasons here. First, the out of the box treeview control just didn't work the way it needed to with the module (see forum module search). It isn't a bad control, but it needs some love. Another reason is a treeview control that lists so many forums (like on here) is far from user friendly.

On another note, I personally think its not a very good idea for an admin to set notifications for other users. Users should be forced to opt-in (technically, you are breaking SPAM compliance otherwise - in most situations). However, we have notification forums that allow this very thing to be done by module admin for situations where it is a requirement (I have used this before because I had to).
