Hi, this problem also exists with older DNN Version (DNN4.x) in IE8. In Firefox, IE7 and IE 6 it works fine. Looks as if the IE8 does not like sth. in the JS of  the FCK Editor.

Hi, it seems as if the Provider and/or the FCK Editor do not like this Tag:  <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

With this <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />  (Browsermode: IE7 Documnetmode: Quirks) the  "Problem" was fixed in my case.

With Browsermode : IE7 Documentmode: IE7-Standards the Toolbar brakes.

I don't want it to display in Quirks mode though. My layout is designed for standards compliant display modes in IE and firefox. If it displays in quirks things get a little strange.  for the time being I'm trying out a new provider. If someone has the solution can they please post it here so we can all benefit from it?

Try clearing your browser cache. This site is using FCK Editor and DNN 5.1.1 - do you have issues with dotnetnuke.com?

Thanks.

I guess that was the issue. I have no idea how that would have happened though. It didn't do it previously so how would the cache have saved something like that?

Anyways, seems to be fixed now that I cleared the cache. amazing how simple the solution is sometimes.

Thanks Alex and everyone who suggested solutions.
