I use 3essentials hosting. I'm on web22. I have  a few 4.9.2 sites installed, and upgraded one site  to 5.1.1

The 4.9.2 sites don't seem to have any major issues.

The 5.1.1 site works great for me at home, works on some computers at work, and doesn't work on some computers at work.  Then, randomly, without changing any settings, the site works on the computer it didn't work on a few hours earlier and I'm happy.  Then, it stops working again.

Is there something I should tell my web host to update?  I can't think of anything that would cause this that's a problem with the website since it works on some machines and not on others... with the SAME OS and  SAME BROWSERS..

I just can't think of a reason why the site works at random times on the same browser it didn't work on a few hours earlier (without setting changes or rebooting).  It has to be server or IIS or something else?

 

Here's a recent error in event log  from  someone using Mac who can't login... yet it works fine on a different macbook.  (Also same  errors with IE in XP... but then it works at random without changing any settings).

For people with edit permission, there might be a need to clear the local browser cache.

besides, there might be a caching issue, what are the performance settings of the site?

Thanks Sebastian

I've asked people with problems to upgrade their browser and run windows or mac updates..

I've also asked them to clear cache and restart computer.  It's odd though -- because I myself experienced the same error in IE7/Chrome/FF3 on the same XP Box (at work).  As far as I know, the browsers don't share the same cache!  Will be interesting to see if this fixes the issue!

My performance settings are:

Module Caching  Method: Memory

Cache Setting: Heavy

Authenticated Cacheability: Public

Compression Settings: Gzip

Use white space filter: UNCHECKED

2-3 days after upgrading to 5.1.1 I'm no longer getting PAGE_LOAD_EXCEPTIONS.

It seems to be resolved by asking users to clear cache and update their browsers and run windows/apple updates.

I'm not sure if it was just as simple as clearing cache, or if the updates helped too...
