As far as I can see there is no way to create folders to hold different templates since the templates are stored in one .xml file. You cannot use DNN permissions to view different templates either. Or is there something I'm missing?

As a work around I'm wondering if there is some way to provide more than one templates.xml file and control which editor instance uses which .xml file?

Upon further review of the fck developer docs I might have a solution.

Apparently, you can build custom config.js files that will locally override the fckconfig.js.  According to the docs you can place this on a page and just override the editor instance on that page. I'm wondering if I could place the javascript they provide for page overrides in the header of a module (as long as that module is the only module on the page using fck) instead of the header of the page????

I am a bit of a js newb and it will take me a ton of time to work this all out.  It would be nice if the fck provider wizards could give me an idea if I'm barking up the wrong tree or not before I invest a ton of time making this happen.

Thanks in advance.

in a custom Module you can override settings, like the FCKEditor provider does - or you can create your own extended FCKHTMLEditor provider, to allow fo specifying the template folder to be used.

Thanks for the reply Sebastian.

I had looked at both fckconfig.js and the custom fckconfig.js and thought the solution I explained might work since neither of those files specified the path for the CustomConfigurationsPath. Then I looked at the web.config file and saw that the CustomConfigurationsPath is specified there. Which, I'm guessing, is why the above solution didn't work when I tried it.

At this point I'm either going to have to switch to the RAD editor, Cute editor, or hand code the templates into Xmod - none of which are very appealing options.  So if anybody has any ideas of how I could do this by changing code within the current FCK editor provider (since I don't have the ability to custom write my own provider) it would be much appreciated.
