I have version 4.4.3.  I have been having a problem lately of every now and then a user will make a post and it will record the userID of 0 in the DB.  This causes the forum to screw up and I have to go in manually to the DB and fix it.  Any reason why the forum would be doing this?

It is a timeout issue. The forum stores the post after the user was timeout.  I have discuss it several times in this forum. It is  fixed in the 4.5.3 version.
